Eco-Filters
In the case of oil filters, we call green projects that include solutions and / or proposals for alternative materials with the possibility of recycling at a low final waste level. Examples of them are: filtering media technologies with paper and pulp reduction, expansion of synthetic materials such as polypropylene, polyester, multilayer media with two-material composition, innovative concepts that eliminate metallic items and replace with injected polymers and project proposals with the “clean” concept for maintenance and performance generating low volume of material for disposal. The use or application of these filters, whether in light or heavy line, is subject to the supplier’s instruction and manufacturer’s specification. Eco-filters have been available since the late 1990s in Europe and Asia with the start of electronic injection engines. In Brazil this paradigm is being broken with the arrival of imported high-liter vehicles and now with the increase in volume of Asian brands, forcing other automakers to direct their projects to this type of technology.
